Branding & Web Design
Rachel Hostetler Design is currently a graphic and web design studio run by Rachel Hostetler. Currently, we offer branding, identity, print and web design services for small to medium sized companies. Our design style is minimalist, hand made and professional.
What makes my company different: I love to take an idea. A start up. A day dream. Something my client has been dreaming about for years - and see it slowly come to life. Nothing makes a company feel more real than when you have a business card in your hand. I love working with non profits who want to change lives. I love working with people who are excited about their mission or their brand.
Collaboration - i like the idea of a collaboration with other artists. So having a "cove" or a meeting place. Some place where artists feel comfortable getting together, sharing ideas and a space.
Bold - This is my "word of the year". I like that it is a design term but I also love the feel of it. Most of my clients are bold, creative people that step out and start a company, a brand, a product... they step away from the norm and follow their dreams. BUT the problem with "Bold Design Co." just sounds cocky. It sounds like we as a design studio think our designs are really bold. Hate that.
Reverie - This was one of the only words that I got really excited about. I love the sound of it, the meaning of it (a state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts; a daydream; a fanciful idea or theory) and I can picture it as a logo. I like the thought of working with someone who has an idea or a dream that they thought would never actually happen. But they are stepping out and pursuing their dreams.
The problems: 1. No one knows what it means 2. Most people think it means "revelry" ( lively festivities usually involving a large amount of alcohol. yikes!) 3. Yet again sounds a little cocky to me. "We make your dreams come true!" yuck!
If I could pick what the future of my company could look like, I see a lot of possibilities. Having a name that fits many different avenues would be great:
